REIGNIER CATHOLIC SCHOOL
We are a Catholic School situated on Guppy Road in Taradale, catering for children from Years 0 – 6. Working alongside our Catholic Parish of Napier we are able to provide a Catholic culture for our children and a Christian framework for life and education.
We enjoy a supportive, nurturing atmosphere and a strong sense of community which in turn allows children to feel happy and at ease in developing new relationships. The diversity we enjoy in our school along with our committed and well-qualified teachers will provide enriching experiences for your children.

Stationery Requirements for 2023

Please note: When ordering your stationery packs online, the number of items can be modified if you already have the item (eg reusing a clear file, book bag etc). We encourage you to purchase the stationery listed and not substitute items as considerable thought has been given to what is most suitable for each class.
For those students who are starting school in 2023, New Entrant stationery packs can be purchased
at these back-to-school prices now.

Sports Registrations Term 1
Thu Jan 26 01:26pmSports registrations are now open for Term 1. Whilst we are aware of the rising cost of living and the cost for your child to participate in these sports, we do require prompt payment once teams are confirmed. Payment plans can be arranged with discussion with Mrs Gouder or Mrs Shanks. Please see the attached document for what is on offer and register by emailing the specified teacher.

Our final Mass and Prizegiving will take place tomorrow evening (Thursday 15th December) at 6pm at St Mary’s Church. Fr. Chris Martin will be presiding. The Nativity play is incorporated as part of the Mass at the Gospel reading. Prizegiving will follow at the conclusion of Mass.
We ask all children to be seated by 5.50pm and to be in their correct uniform. The evening should conclude approximately 7.30pm.
We look forward to seeing you all.
Lastly, school will finish for the year at 12.45pm on Friday 16th December. Please note Friday attendance is optional due to this being a designated moving day of classrooms.

These items can be placed in classroom boxes and will form part of the offertory procession at our final mass on Thursday 15th December.
Some examples of a non-perishable Christmas treat food item are: Brandy Snaps, Eclairs, Christmas Mince Pies, Chocolates, Christmas Pudding, Christmas Cake, Meringues etc.

Thu Dec 08 12:23pmChristmas Showcase – Tuesday 13th December 2pm to be held at school.
Come along and be entertained by the children. Each team are going to be presenting an item. There is singing, dancing and acting. Please gather in the area in front of Rooms 7 and 8.
End of year Mass and Prizegiving – Thursday 15th December 6pm at St Mary’s Church.
Please join us for our final Mass. The Year 6 students will be acting out the Gospel. Prizegiving will follow Mass.
Final Day – Friday 16th December
School closes for 2022 at 12.45pm. Attendance is optional.
School resumes Wednesday 1st February.
Fun Day Tomorrow (Thursday 8th December)

Due to weather coming through, the Fun Day activities that were planned for tomorrow are not going ahead, however, lunch is still being provided by the Friends of Reignier. Lunch will be at 12.15pm and the children can still come to school in mufti.
Lunch consists of a sausage, brownie and a juicy. If this is not enough for your child, please send along some additional food items. Children still need brain food and morning tea.

Scripture Reading Final

Futsal 2023!
Thu Nov 17 09:54amWe have been notified by Central Football that ALL Futsal in Term 1 will be played on a FRIDAY.
The cost per team has increased. If we have the minimum number of players in the team (5) it will be approx $83 per student. This cost will reduce if we have 7 or 8 players per team.
Parents of Year 3 and 4 children in 2023, cricket is also played on a Friday afternoon.
Registrations are now open for teams for Term 1. I appreciate it seems a long way off, but if you could email rjackson@reignier.school.nz to indicate if you would like your child to play Futsal in Term 1 it will enable me to register teams.
There are competitions for Year 1 and 2; Year 3 and 4; and Year 5 and 6. Games will be played on Friday afternoons at the PGA.

Camp Tūtira 2023 – Year 5 and 6 students

We have just been advised from the curator of Guthrie Smith that they are putting their costs up. This means that we will recalculate camp costs asap and let you know if this means a change to the current indicated cost.

Kapa Haka Tickets
Wed Nov 16 02:36pmWe have 3 tickets available for tonight’s Kapa Haka festival if anyone is interested in attending. It is from 5.15pm – 6.15pm at the Municipal Theatre. If you would like these tickets, please contact the office – 844 2144. First in first served.
Kapa Haka Update
Tue Nov 15 03:40pmStudents in Kapa Haka are to come to school in their SCHOOL UNIFORM tomorrow. They will travel by bus to the Napier Municipal Theatre for the rehearsal.
All girls who need assistance with their hair, please bring all items (donut, bobby pins, hair ties, hairspray and hair brush) to school. Bella’s mum, Belinda, will do the buns in the afternoon.
Students are to be dropped off to the side door of the Napier Municipal Theatre (right hand side looking from the road) between 4.50 and 5pm DRESSED ready to go.
Please collect your child at the conclusion of the festival from the same door. This will be approximately 6.15pm.

Teachers Paid Union Meeting – Tuesday 15th November
Mon Nov 07 03:56pmTeachers in our school will be attending a paid union meeting next Tuesday 15th November at 1.30pm to discuss the progress of negotiations for their collective employment agreements, the proposed unified public service pay offer and their Wāwāhi Tahā | Time 4 Tamariki campaign.
It is a teacher’s right to be able to attend this meeting and we want to make sure that we do not disrupt the school over the whole week, so we have decided that we will send all staff on the same day.
Therefore, school will be closed for instruction and we would appreciate if you would be able to pick your child(ren) up at 12.45pm next Tuesday, 15th November.
