Welcome to

REIGNIER CATHOLIC SCHOOL

We are a Catholic School situated on Guppy Road in Taradale, catering for children from Years 0 – 6. Working alongside our Catholic Parish of Napier we are able to provide a Catholic culture for our children and a Christian framework for life and education.

We enjoy a supportive, nurturing atmosphere and a strong sense of community which in turn allows children to feel happy and at ease in developing new relationships. The diversity we enjoy in our school along with our committed and well-qualified teachers will provide enriching experiences for your children.

Reignier Catholic School has a proud tradition of faithfulness to God and one another, and excellence in education be it academic, sporting or cultural. We are pleased to share that tradition and have confidence that your child will benefit greatly from their Reignier School experience.

Signing Students in and out of school

Mon Aug 08 09:01am

We have noticed a lot of students arriving late at the moment. The school day starts at 8.55am. If students arrive after the bell, they MUST sign in at the school office. This is so we know they have arrived on school.

Our school day ends at 2.55pm. Any student being picked up before then, MUST be signed out via the front office. All visitors to the school must report to the front office. Do not go to your child’s class to collect them. All students are to be collected from the front office.

It is important that we follow these guidelines as they are in place for all our health and safety measures as well as security purposes.

Thank you.

Absences

Thu Jun 30 11:25am

Kia ora whanau,

We would like to let you know that we are beginning to see a rise in Covid cases in middle and senior school. We currently have 6 families in isolation. This in on top of our whanau who have children with coughs, colds and flu.

Today we are sitting with 18% of our kura away.

We ask that you continue to be vigilant and if your child is unwell please keep them at home. If your child is away from school, can you please let the office know either via the school app or phoning the office. We are spending quite a bit of time in the mornings having to follow up with families.

I would also like to thank the amazing staff of the school, who are keeping things running as normally as possible. I encourage you to take the time to thank your child’s teacher and school staff as they do a lot behind the scenes to ensure that we are able to keep classes and learning happening across the school. We are truly blessed to have these people as part of our school.

Please continue to  look after one another and check in on people to see how they are doing and if they need anything. If you know of a family who might need a little more extra support, please let Mrs Shanks know.

We are keeping you all in our prayers and wishing you all a speedy recovery.

God Bless.

Tummy Bug

Thu May 19 11:59am

Kia ora whanau,

Please be aware that we have a gastro bug making its way through the school at the moment. This bug comes on quite fast with vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach cramps and possibly a fever.

The best treatment is to drink lots of fluids to prevent dehydration and careful handwashing is the most important way to prevent the spread of bug.

As gastro bugs spread very easily, we ask that you please keep your sick child at home until 48 hours without vomiting and diarrhoea as per recommended guidelines.
