DanceNZMade – Holiday Practice

Fri Jul 03 05:09pm

Kia ora whānau,

Based on our rehearsals today, we have decided to have a couple of holiday practices for our troupes. Attendance is not compulsory.

IF your child is around and able to make it that would be great. However please do not change your plans just so your child is able to come as we know some people are busy and travelling away. Your child is not to tell you they must attend as it has been made clear to them, it is only if they are going to be around and not busy. Anything that is covered will be up loaded and shared.

Both sessions are in the second week of the holidays.

Yr 5/6 Troupe: Wednesday 15th July 12.45 – 2.45pm (Hall)

Yr 7/8 Troupe:
Hip hop Group only:    Wednesday 1.30 – 2.30pm

Guppy Road & Meeanee Road Intersection Update from the Napier City Council

Fri Jun 12 03:59pm

You may have seen our earlier notice about a trial roundabout planned for the Meeanee Road and Guppy Road intersection. This work was due to start on Monday 15 June but has been put on hold.

Feedback from the community on the original proposal raised issues that need to be worked through before any construction begins. Since the project was first proposed, the community has been actively involved in helping refine the right solution for this intersection, and some details of the design are now being reconsidered.

Work will be rescheduled for a time when the intersection has fewer traffic movements, potentially during the school holidays. We will share confirmed dates well before any work begins.

Napier City Council thanks community for their feedback, which will continue to play an important role in shaping the permanent solution for this intersection.

Any questions? Please visit connect.napier.govt.nz to keep up to date with the project or contact Tony Mills (Network Manager) on 027 553 2114.

Guppy Road & Meeanee Road Intersection Upcoming Road Works

Mon Jun 08 04:15pm

Napier City Council is replacing the traffic signals at the Guppy Road / Meeanee Road intersection with a temporary roundabout.

Work begins on Monday 15 June and will be completed overnight between 7pm and 6am. It will take up to five nights.

The intersection will be open throughout and managed by traffic personnel during construction hours.

A raised pedestrian crossing will be installed on Meeanee Road (western approach) to provide a safe crossing point for students and families.

Please allow a little extra time on your school runs during and following installation as drivers adjust to the new layout.

This is a trial roundabout and your feedback matters. Once it is in place, look out for notice boards near the site or visit www.connect.napier.govt.nz to have your say. Your views will help shape the permanent solution for this intersection.

Visiting Quest – Pauline Balm

Mon Jun 08 01:15pm

Tēnā koutou Reignier Catholic School community,

My name is Pauline Balm, and I am part of the Catholic Education Office in the Diocese of Palmerston North.

Over the course of this year, I am spending time at Reignier Catholic School to learn more about how children are supported in their faith journey. Your voice as parents and whānau is an important part of this.

I am also interested in what it is like for you and your family to be part of the Reignier Catholic School community, whatever your connection to the Catholic Church may or may not be.

I will be onsite again on the 17th and 18th of June and will be based in the conference room.

I would love the opportunity to talk with you in person. Alternatively, you are welcome to share your thoughts in writing by responding to the questions below:

What are your hopes for your child because they attend a Catholic school?
How are these hopes being realised?
Where have you seen your child show the RCS values of respect, community and service beyond the school grounds?
The Catholic church identifies parents as first educators of their children’s faith. In what ways does Reignier Catholic School support you in nurturing your child’s faith?
What does being part of the Reignier Catholic School community look like, feel like, or sound like for your family?
Any other comments

Ngā mihi nui,

Tsunami Hīkoi TOMORROW

Thu Jun 04 11:22am

Tomorrow, Friday, 5 June, our whole school will be taking part in our annual Tsunami Hīkoi as part of our Caritas Challenge. This hīkoi is connected to the Caritas “Sweat It” challenge, recognising that for many of our students this is a significant walk.

By participating, our young people are given the opportunity to step into the shoes of others around the world who walk similar distances every day to access basic necessities such as clean water.

Students may bring a change of footwear for the walk. We ask that no scooters or bikes are brought to school tomorrow.

All Team Kākano and Team Rea students (Years 0–6) will need to be collected from the lawn area behind Church Road Winery on Church Road at the usual end-of-school time of 2.55pm. See image (red star).

For students going to after-school care, providers have been notified to collect the children from Church Road at the end of the day.

For the safety of all students, children will only be released to their parent/caregiver unless alternative arrangements have been made through the school office or directly with Mrs Shanks.

When collecting your child, please report to the teacher responsible for their group so they can be signed out. Students will be seated in their house groups, so it may be helpful to check with your child beforehand which house they belong to.

Thank you for your support as we provide this meaningful learning experience for our students.
